The move to contemporary art paintings
During my first solo exhibition in Cape Town at the AVA gallery, I used my female figure watercolour series as inspiration. But now, I have been moved to create more expressive contemporary art paintings.
I admit I am reading up more on expressive abstract painting and the various art movements. I need to find my place in this world. Some of it is comforting but I still feel lost. Maybe I just need to read more and see more.
On the 30th May, I decided to embark on 6-day expressive painting marathon.
Well, sort of.
This is the first of the works to come out. And by come out, I mean pour out. Please do feel free to check the rest of the works from this series in the store, as well as my studio experiments. Why sell them? Because you never know who may connect with a specific hue or mark or empty space on the canvas.
